Questions
How soon can we walk on refinished floors?
Wait a full 24–48 hours before light foot traffic and at least 48–72 hours before moving furniture back.
How long does the finish take to cure?
Waterborne acrylic urethanes fully cure within 7–14 days after the final coat; oil-based urethanes within 21–30 days. Hold off on area rugs and wet cleaning until then.
Can you change the color of my floors?
Yes. We sand to bare wood and apply stain samples on your floor so you can choose the color before we finish.
How often should hardwood floors be recoated?
Buffing and recoating every 2–4 years, depending on traffic and wear, adds protection and can help you avoid a full refinish.
How should I clean my floors afterward?
Vacuum or use an untreated microfiber dust mop, and clean with Glitsa Clean or Pallmann hardwood floor cleaner. Never use wax, Murphy’s Oil Soap or steam cleaners.
